Indigo & Ivory

This collection was inspired by moths, the Silk Road and Marco Polo's travels. I used to have silkworms as a child and I was fascinated by the silk making process from a young age. I tried to reproduce the textures of the silk cocoons on the felted pieces and I added indigo to give it gravity. The techniques used are stitch and Nuno felting, cutwork on silk chiffon, shibori dyeing. The silhouettes are comfortable and flow effortlessly on the body.
